A magical night was within our reach,
as a full moon lit our path to the beach.
Without a word, just hand in hand,
barefooted we walked across the sand.

Alone we danced in the warm, gentle sea,
filling the night with our sounds of glee.
Then under that magnificent moon above,
we lay together and made beautiful love.

Years have passed since that special night,
and still I look upward at the skies so bright,
studded with stars that twinkle and gleam,
and rejoice that our love's not merely a dream.

Just For Today, Lord

I will live through the next 12 hours and not try too tackle all of life's problems at once.
I will improve my mind. I will learn something useful.
I will learn something that requires effort, thought, and concentration.
I will be agreeable. I will look my best, speak in a well-modulated voice, be courteous and considerate.
I will not find fault with friend, relative, or colleague.
I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.
I will have a program I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it.
I will save myself from two enemies - hurry and indecision.
I will do a good turn and keep it a secret. If anyone finds out, it won't count.
I will do two things I do not want too do, just for the exercise.
I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world and feel confident that the world will give its best to me.

You're A Real Angel

If an Angel is someone who's so filled with love
It's a gift that they constantly share
If an Angel is someone who looks out for others
And gives them a nudge here or there
If an Angel is someone who touches your life
With a heart that's both joyful and wise
Then even though you don't have halo or wings
You're an Angel in human disguise.

All's Right with the World

The years at the spring;
The day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn:
God's in his heaven...
All's right with the world!

Don't Quit

Don't quit when the tide is lowest,
For it's just about to turn;
Don't Quit over doubts and questions,
For there's something you may learn.
Don't quit when the night is darkest,
For it's just a while 'til dawn;
Don't quit when you've run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.
Don't quit when the hill is steepest,
For your goal is almost nigh;
Don't quit, for you're not a failure
Until you fail to try.

Climb Till Your Dream Comes True

often your task will be many,
and more than you think you can do..
often the hills insurmountable, too..
but always remember..
the hills ahead are never as steep as they seem,
and with faith in your heart, start upward
and climb 'til you reach your dream.
for nothing in life that is worthy
is ever too hard to achieve
if you have the faith to believe..
for faith is a force that is greater
than knowledge or power or skill
and many defeats turn to triumph
if you trust in god's wisdom and will..
there is nothing that god cannot do,
so start out today with faith in your heart
and climb 'til your dream comes true.

Haven of the Heart

our father, who art in heaven,
hear this little prayer
and reach across the miles today
that stretch from here to there,
so I may feel much closer
to those I am fondest of,
and they may know I think of them
with thankfulness and love.
and help all people everywhere
who must often dwell apart
to know that they are together
in the haven of the heart.

Heart Gifts

It's not the things that can be bought
that are life's richest treasure,
It's just the little
"heart gifts"
that money cannot measure...
A cheerful smile, a friendly word,
a sympathetic nod
Are priceless little treasures
from the storehouse
of our God...
They are the things that can't be bought
with silver or with gold,
For thoughtfulness and kindness
and love are never sold...
They are the priceless things in life
for which no one can pay,
And the giver finds rich recompense
In giving them away.

Help Yourself to Happiness

Everybody, everywhere
seeks happiness, it's true,
But finding it and keeping it
seem difficult to do.
Difficult because we think
that happiness is found
Only in the places where
wealth and fame abound.
And so we go on searching
in palaces of pleasure
Seeking recognition
and monetary treasure,
Unaware that happiness
is just a state of mind
Within the reach of everyone
who takes time to be kind.
For in making others happy
we will be happy, too.
For the happiness you give away
returns to shine on you.

This Too Shall Pass

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-
If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains
That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near.

For Those who Believe all is Possible

There are no miracles
for those who doubt
their possibilities...

Whatever you may have believed;
whatever you may have done;
and whatever you may be
in your life -
It is not too late
to change course
and begin anew...

A fresh start,

and the wonderful
peace that passes
all understanding

Life is Filled with Possibilities

that challenge us each day
to take a chance, try something new,
see things a different way.
And it's through these special moments
that we learn to change and grow,
to explore the precious gift
to who we are and what we know.
Unless you take a chance or two,
in order to begin...
there's nothing we can hope to gain,
no prize that we can win.
For it's not until we try
that we find out
what we can do...
so don't wait until tomorrow
to discover something new!

Take Time

at all the gladness
the world can offer

Accept Me

Always Believe

You have the ability
to attain whatever you seek;
within you is every potential
you can imagine.
Always aim higher than
you believe you can reach.
So often, you'll discover
that when your talents
are set free
by your imagination,
you can achieve any goal.
If people offer their
help or wisdom
as you go through life,
accept it gratefully.
You can learn much from those
who have gone before you.
But never be afraid or hesitant
to step off the accepted path
and head off in your own direction
if your heart tells you
that it's the right way for you.
Always believe that you will
ultimately succeed
at whatever you do,
and never forget the value
of persistence, discipline,
and determination.
You are meant to be

Follow your dream...take one step at a time
And don't settle for less, just continue to climb.
Follow your dream...if you stumble don't stop
And lose sight of your goal, press on to the top.
For only on top can we see the whole view
can we see what we've done and what we can do
can we then have the vision to seek something new...
Press on, and follow your dream.

A Thing of Beauty

A thing of beauty is a joy forever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health,
and quiet breathing.

You Must Not Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road your on seems all Uphill
When funds are low and debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest(pray) if you must but don't you quit
Life is queer with it's twist and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won if he stuck it out
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow
Success is failure turned inside out
A silver tint of the cloud of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems a far
So stick to the fight when you hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you
MUST NOT QUIT!!!!!!

Today

Yesterday is just a memory.
Tomorrow we may never see.
There's beauty all around us,
life can be so pleasant.
Today is like a gift
That's why it's called the present.

Rich Blessings

Scientific skills can create space shuttles,
And even send men to the moon,
Dexterous hands can sew pretty ruffles,
And even babes grow up too soon.

Sailing boats with the finest mast,
But only God can make a rose.

Always Have a Dream

Forget about the days
when it's been cloudy,

A Special Angel Friend

God knew we needed someone To watch us night and day,
To guide us down the narrow path And keep all harm away.
Someone of endless wisdom, Whom He could always trust,
To guard us every minute, And take good care of us.
So carefully He chose each one, For every living soul,
Some with wings of silver, And some with wings of gold,
But all filled with a burning love, That never has an end,
And each of us is blessed to have, A Special Angel Friend.

Touched by an Angel

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave.

And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.

The Beauty Of A Woman

The beauty of a woman,
isn't in the clothes she wears,
the figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes
because that's the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman, isn't in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman
is reflected by her soul.
It's the caring that she cares to give,
the passion that she shows,
and the beauty of a woman, with passing years, only grows.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Success

Success is doing the best you can, in as many ways as you can.

It is being just and honest and true - not in a few things, but in everything you do.

Always look ahead and never look back, believe you can make all your dreams come true.

Always believe in the best you can be and have faith in the things that you do.

Forget about the mistakes you've made yesterday, the lessons you learn will prove valuable for today...

Never give up and think that you're through...for there's always tomorrow and a chance to begin brand new.

It is in dreaming the greatest dreams...

and seeking the highest goals...that we build the brightest tomorrows.

There is no limit to the goals you can attain, or the success you can achieve... your possibilities are as endless as your dreams.

Whatever it is that you seek in life, whatever your dreams and what you hope to achieve,

whatever you try to reach - whatever you plan...can all be yours - if you only believe you can!

Hope

Hope is a thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings a tune without words
And never stops at all.
And sweetest, in the gale, is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That keeps so many warm.
I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea
Yet, never, in extremity
It ask a crumb of me.

Family and Friends

We all have a cherished garden we tend -
It is planted with love of family and friends.
The memories and dreams we treasure and share
Are like beautiful roses found blooming there.
The comfort and care on which we depend
Is given with love between family and friends.
The sunshine of laughter and rain of a tear
Only make our love grow with each passing year.
We may all be ourselves with no need to pretend
Because of the love of family and friends;
They notice the rainbows and weather the showers.
They overlook weeds and praise all our flowers.
The most valuable thing is the time that we spend
Tending this garden with family and friends.
When counting our blessings, we know from the start
That family and friends come first in our heart.

Uncounted Blessings

Whenever we gather together,
The words are not easy to find,
But love speaks a common language
When people have ties that bind.
We don't always say what we're feeling
As often as families should;
We don't count our blessings out loud,
But somehow they're understood.
We know that we're thankful for living
With the comfort of each other's care;
We're grateful for memories and stories,
And the jokes that our family shares.
We might leave a promise unspoken,
But we know that we're loyal and true;
We can count on companions through life,
In the sunshine and shadows, too.
We might show some special attention
To a stranger, acquaintance, or guest,
But we never forget in our hearts
About those that we really love best.
These blessings can never be counted
Like money or gold dividends;
They can only be shared as the love
That exists when families are friends.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream.

He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that at the worst times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?"

The Lord replied " My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of suffering and when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Desiderata

Go Placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence...

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit

If you compare yourself with others; you may become bitter or vain, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interest in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing. fortunes of time... Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism...

Be yourself Especially do not feign affection Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore; be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life; keep peace in your soul: With all its sham; drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful Strive to be happy

UNTITLED

The birds couldn't tell her
Or they wouldn't
One or the other
They said they shouldn't
She had to find out on her own
Just who she was
Not what she was shown
She just didn't know because
She was afraid
Afraid of who and what she really was.

Mountains of distress
Surround my body
Are visible signs
I feel ugly
My mind a mess.

THE CONSUMING

Pain and sorrow
Forever my silent companions
Quietly reminding me
Of the unfinished
The incomplete
I haven't yet done
What I dreamed I would do
The desire burns fiercely
In the depths of my soul
I've put it on hold
For the other parts of my life
People who don't understand
Even lie by my side at night
The pain and sorrow
Of all of mankind
It seems to consume me
So quietly it consumes me
Yet so completely it ruins my life.

 

THE DARKEST SECRET

He took me to his room
Laid me on the bed
Can you keep a secret?
That is what he said.
He put his hands all over
Then he pushed inside
Took away my dignity
He took away my pride.

Eight years I lived in fear
Wondering what to do
I'd like to ask my mother
What if that were you
Being explored in places
I didn't know were there
Feeling so alone
Being so scared
The whole time I wondered
If anyone even cared.

So if someone asks if you can keep a secret,
make sure you know what that secret is
before you make any promises.
A secret that can hurt or even kill you or someone else
is not a secret worth keeping.
